Once again our garden club has been invited to take a field trip to The Great Outdoors. Owner Tom Tinguely and General Manager Meredeth Jiles will welcome our group to an evening of “What’s New” in the nursery, door prizes, tours of the nursery and greenhouses, and shopping discounts throughout the garden center on plants, pots, wind chimes, organic fertilizers and so much more. Laura will also be delivering the Gators and Weeders that evening....so take your checkbooks!
This is a perfect time to introduce your gardening friends to our club. Invite someone to go with you.
Drinks and food will be provided before the meeting starting at 6:00 PM. The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM, instead of the usual 7:30 PM. The Great Outdoors is located at 2730 South Congress Avenue. Parking is limited, so carpool if you can. In case of inclement weather, the meeting may have to be canceled.
Those door prizes last year were truly “winners.” Here’s a photo of the door prize Ron Miller won in October, a sansevieria, which he entered in the recent Zilker Garden Festival flower show. It placed second overall in the show! Congratulations, Ron!
