June Climate for Austin

The average daily maximum temperature varies from 89  at the beginning of the month to 94 at the end. The minimum  varies from 69 at the beginning to 73 at the end of the month.  Extremes are 105 observed in 1980 and 53 in l970. We aver-  age about 21 days with a maximum of 90 or higher.

Precipitation averages 3.72 inches but has ranged from a  wet 14.96 in 1981 to only a trace in 1967. A maximum 24-  hour amount of 6.50 occurred in 1964. On average, precipitation is observed on 7 days during the month with thunder-  storms occurring on 5 of those days.

We usually receive about 69% of the possible sunshine,  and between sunrise and sunset have 8 clear days, 15 partly  cloudy days and 7 days with overcast conditions. The time  between sunrise and sunset varies from about 13 hours 59 minutes at the beginning of the month to 14 hours 5 minutes at the  end of the month.
